Heidelberg Germany

Heidelberg is situated in the South-eastern part of Germany, along the Neckar River, in the Rhein-Neckar region of the state of Baden-Württemberg. It's a part of Germany's "Castle Road". Heidelberg is well-known for its castle, but it has much more to offer, such as a leisurely walk along the banks of the Neckar River or a stroll along the famous Philosophenweg, which runs along the northern bank of the Neckar. As you walk along the Neckar, you can enjoy the lush greenery of the Neckarweisse gardens, complete with fountains and open spaces. The castle, a beautiful ruin, is perched on a steep hill overlooking the old town and the Neckar River. The castle offers a breathtaking view of the old town and houses the German Pharmaceutical Museum, which displays pharmaceutical equipment from the 18th and 19th centuries. The enchanting, fairy-tale-like old town has seen minimal modern development. Walking these ancient, narrow streets feels like stepping back in time. Take your time. Stop and look around. Shop, dine at a restaurant, and soak in the ambiance. The Kornmarkt, the city's main market square lined with shops and cafes, is located in the old town. The Alte Brücke or Karl-Theodor-Brücke connects the old town with the suburb of Neuenheim on the opposite bank of the Neckar. Far from being a museum city, this picturesque gem on the Neckar is now a bustling university town with a vibrant cultural scene.
