Safranbolu is a town located in the Black Sea region of northern Turkey, serving as a connection point for the trade route between Europe and the East. The influence of the Ottoman culture is still evident in the old Çarşı district and the red-roofed Ottoman houses lining the cobblestone streets. Be sure not to miss the Cinci Han caravansary, which offers stunning rooftop views of the town. After your visit, you can unwind in the 17th-century Tarihi Cinci Hamam bathhouse. The Old Town is home to numerous historical buildings, including a private museum, mosques, tombs, historical fountains, Turkish baths, caravanserais, a historical clock tower, a sundial, and hundreds of houses and mansions. You'll also find mounds of ancient settlements, rock tombs, and historical bridges. The Old Town is situated in a deep ravine, in a relatively dry area that is in the rain shadow of the mountains. The New Town, on the other hand, is located on a plateau approximately two kilometers west of the Old Town.
